Whey you put on the hotcoat on top of the newly glassed board, it all looks so good. You can fool yourself and think of the board as finished. BUT, that is not at all the case. You still have to sand the hotcoat to become even and to get the finish you prefer. If you shaped the board properly, if you laminated it carefully, and if you applied the right amount of hotcoat, the sanding is relatively easy. And, if you also use a heavy sander with a large disk and not to crude paper, you might end up with a perfectly even board. But for that to happen – you also need to know what your doing!
